The Stilborn’s annual family photos truly just keep getting better! I’ll never take for granted the trust folks put in me to capture their precious memories year after year. Watching their families grow, their farms shift and expand, and their laughs as they enjoy each other under the summer sky- it just can’t be beat.

No better way to celebrate a warm Saskatchewan summer evening than capturing graduation photos. Kenzie’s dress was so timeless and was complimented wonderfully by the beautiful greens and rustic browns we stumbled upon. Kenzie was a champ with the bugs and crawling through the tall grass for the shot!

Open pastures, beautiful gowns, sharp tuxes, and fast vehicles - YUP, I think that combo makes for a darn good grad session. We had a great time wandering fields, popping wheelies, and sharing laughs with family and friends. Couldn’t have asked for a better evening under that big prairie sky.

I have known this beautiful gal since she was 7 years old- which made capturing these such a special moment. Tori’s dress was the perfect mix of country and class- a very unique look that definitely turned heads! We got to include the whole family, including the horses and the dogs (and the mosquitos, lol). Tori is such a bright light and will do wonderful things in this world with her kind heart.

With all the storms we’ve been having in Sask this summer, Ryleigh was blessed with the coolest storm overhead near the end of her session. Meeting Ryleigh, it felt like I had known her forever! Her smile is totally contagious and my belly definitely hurt from all the laughs we shared. All the best in your bright future, Ryleigh! You’ll do great things.

Had a great evening with the Cursons’ family celebrating Iain’s grad. I love when a grad isn’t afraid to share their ideas and bring their personality to their photoshoot. We hung with the horses, ran down the bale stacks, climbed tractors, and overall just had a really great evening enjoy the Sask Prairies.

We truly could not have asked for a more beautiful day for these photos. I find extended family photos to be exceptionally special, because it isn’t often that all of your family is in the same place at the same time. We enjoyed Echo Lake and Pasqua Lake for these photos- with the beautiful beaches and overcast skies making the heat more enjoyable.

Am I in for a last minute farm engagement session?! Heck yeah I am. Had so much fun with these two exploring Jordan’s family farm. It was raining (yes, raining in March) during the first part of their photos, so we made use of the beautiful barn loft (thank you flash!). From there, we embraced the rain and it made for the most sweet and cinematic photos.

Had such a lovely time with these two ladies. They opened up a new therapy space in Melville that is sure to bring so much to our community. Incorporating their personalities and some of their things from around the office into this shoot was a blast!

Jade invited me to her home to capture some business photos for her mortgage broker business. It was so fun to find ways to tie her personality into these images. Never underestimate what a white backdrop, some great outfits, and some details that represent your business can do.

Nothing more special than capturing these first moments for close friends. Tiny baby fingers and toes and cuddles on the couch- soak it all in! It goes too darn fast. Welcome to the world baby J.

Though I no longer shoot weddings, when I was asked to capture this intimate elopement for my two friends my creative heart just couldn’t say no. These two high school sweethearts have one of my favourite love stories. Their choice to get married, just the two of them with no crowd, was perfectly them. We spent the day laughing, freezing our butts off a little, and soaking in their first long-awaited moments as husband and wife. Asessippi Ski Resort was the perfect location, offering so many beautiful scenes and the coziest atmosphere. Could not have asked for a better day.

Cake smashes are always so fun. Brittany did such a great job curating this session in their home. One happy dude is such a classic and timeless theme. Big thanks to Creative Creations cake for this absolutely beautiful smash cake- I know he sure enjoyed it!

Meagan asked me to come capture moments of her and her old faithful horse. These sessions are always a pleasure, because the love a girl has for her heart horse is truly unmatched. It was cold- but Meagan was a trooper about it. We wandered her family farm, capturing her enjoying her boy, as well as grabbing photos of some of the other farm animals along the way.

Oh, fall colours, could you last a little longer? This session definitely had some of the best fall colours of the year- and at sunset to boot! Megan and Derek travelled up to Melville to have me capture some memories, and just happened to be freshly engaged! It was a pleasure capturing their laughter, love, and genuine enjoyment of one another through these images.

Two of my longtime friends and their rainbow baby- what an honour. Probably almost cried several times during this session, both from laughing, and from emotional overwhelm for these two. We explored Robyn and Jesse’s future home, toured rolling golden prairie fields, and sought out the remaining fall colours. Robyn had the idea to glue some florals to her stomach, which was both beautiful and a hilarious process. So thankful to have been asked to capture these.

Would you guess that one of these kiddos was NOT having it at the beginning of the session? There were tears, big feelings, and complete avoidance of the camera- but guess what? Even in a race against the sunset we were able to slow it down, get intentional, incorporate play and build comfort, so that we could eventually get some timeless, happy photos for this family. Not all sessions are all sunshine and roses, but I promise to never rush your family, to go at your kiddos’ speed, and to prioritize comfort over the camera, every single time.

A maternity session overlooking the valley with Katie’s grandfather’s retired tractor in the foreground in the fall was alllmossstt too much for my creative heart to handle. These types of sessions- the ones filled with meaning and intention- are 1000% why I got into this career. Katie and Brodie toured me around their favourite places all the while soaking in some last few moments as a family of two (four if you count the puppers, which I always do)!

Another lovely fall session for this trio. I don’t know how they do it, but EVERYTIME they book for the best week of fall for colours. Golden yellows, soft oranges, burnt reds- it literally does not get any better. Moe could not have completed Holly and Sean’s family any more perfectly- she is a beautiful combination of their personalities and truly keeps everyone smiling the whole time.

I’ve been capturing the Thomson family since before their kiddos were both born. From a handful of couples photos at a wedding I was shooting, to maternity photos, to newborn photos, to now family photos. Haley and Blaine are two of the kindest souls and they always make the sessions feel fun, welcoming, and carefree. It was a pleasure to capture the personalities of their boys that are starting to shine through with these images.
